He is a veteran of World War II , a retired business executive and since then a writer. Three historical books and two wine books have kept his curiosity busy. His first wine book, about the then growing California wine industry, was self published in 1970. A trip in 2005 on the Columbia River evoked curiosity of Washington State wines, and returning home, he found no Washington State wine books. So research began and in early 2006 WASHINGTON STATE WINEMAKERS was published. He has four children and four grandchildren and lives in Fort Myers, Florida where golf is his other main interest.
