Just EMBs

by JoAnn Keith

JoAnn Keith is the pen name of M. JoAnn Wright and Richard Keith Herlig. They concluded that a romance novel would be best written by a female sounding author, so they use a combination of their middle names.
The book targets older readers. It has taken away many of the obstacles seniors have with reading. The story has fewer characters, with easily remembered names. There is a table of contents, with the chapter title carried at the top of each page. The book is offered as a large print paper back, to keep the weight down and the price reasonable.
The story is a delightful romance between Doc and Jodi, who are just early morning buddies at a fitness club. Hence, the book title, Just EMBs.
Doc, an older man, rich and sophisticated, owns an international trading company. He spends most of his time in the Caribbean conducting business and entertaining clients aboard his sail boat. His last wife left with a lot of his money and gave him a painful outlook toward love.
Jodi has been married to the same man since high school. Due to a changing economy, her husband is unemployed at times. She works in a large bank and provides their only steady income.
Doc and Jodi look forward to their exercise routine at the club, and their time together in the whirlpool. Doc tells Jodi that their relationship is non-threatening, because he is old and not trying to get her in bed, and she is married and not trying to get his stuff. However--
Jodi goes to work for Doc and ends up with him on his boat in the Caribbean. There, the vivacious Jody begins to melt Doc's icy barriers toward love, and finds herself exploring worlds unknown.
Can an older man and woman escape their self-imposed shackles and find real love?
