Lunch with Cassie

by Janet M. Henderson

This romantic thriller begins as a love story and turns into a tale of survival. Preparing to take pictures in the park, Cassandra Reynolds, a twenty-seven-year-old photographer and daughter of a U.S. congressman, is nearly abducted by her father's enemies. An unlikely hero, Jeff Gordon, the handsome blind man she met while he was walking his seeing-eye dog, becomes her rescuer. He is also a cardiologist who sees her safely to a hospital for treatment of her injuries and becomes her physician. The two fall quickly in love. After Jeff's eyesight is restored, they marry and move to Washington, D.C. He later returns to run the cardiac care center of his former hospital in Chicago. Soon, the marriage is in trouble.

Jeff's long hours at work and the reemergence of an old flame with a son that could possibly be his, make Cassie a desperately unhappy housewife. When two men vie for her attention, she is tempted to stray. Will she succumb to Philippe Curat, the Haitian artist/photographer with the sexy French accent, or to Jonathan Hunter, a billionaire worth more money than he can spend in a lifetime?

What happens is more than she bargained for! Torn between two men, she wrestles with her conscience. And soon she is expecting a child, but by whom - her husband or the other man?

She also learns Jeff has secrets too, and some force her to flee for her life!

This riveting page-turner, jam-packed with romance, bittersweet love affairs and roller-coaster excitement, takes us to Chicago, Paris, Las Vegas, Houston, Canada, Australia, and Scotland as our heroine searches for solutions. Will she escape her husband's enemies? Who fathered her child? And which man does she wind up with in the end? Take Lunch with Cassie and find out.
